Hello…is it me you’re looking for?

Hi guys! So if you have seen me website prior to March 2018, then you have noticed that I have made some changes. YAY! So for a while I have been trying to figure out how to post some of my images on my site (like a gallery) but I could not figure it out for the life of me. Apparently there are themes that you can choose for wordpress to use on your site…but they aren’t very helpful in showing you how to customize them. -_-  uh. Oh well! I finally figured out a way to do it…I think….lol, I made it work. SO! If you want to see a little gallery of some of my recent work then just click on the “My Work” tab, and you can check it out. 🙂 BUT, for a sneak peak, here is my recent illustration. It is called a Corg-Eclair. That is what you get when you mix a corgi and an eclair, lol. I think its cute and I hope you guys like it too. I’m thinking of doing a whole series of these and calling them “dessert dogs”. OH! IDEA!!!! What if I make them as every kind of food (not just dessert) and call it “dog food”, ha! I like puns…if you couldn’t already tell. Well, if you want to see a speed paint and hear a few art tips, then check out the video on my Youtube channel.

Well, thanks for checking in here guys (…if anyone even does? lol) and I’ll try to post more often. TTYL!

Let it Begin!

Hello, so I haven’t really been posting on this site lately….as you can see. But there was a group of people doing a 90 day challenge to post every day, so I figured. What the heck, I can try. I mean, its not like anyone really reads my stuff….honestly, I don’t even think my family knows my website exists. OH WELL! lol. But this is still good for me. So I can motivate myself to get work done and stop being a slacker! Yeah!

Speaking of slacking…I’m also doing a 6 week 20 pound weight loss challenge. I have been sticking to their instructions, but the pounds are not falling off like they are for other people. ARG. So yeah, I got frustrated today and I felt like screaming and I kinda let it out and accused my instructors of calling me a cheater. It didn’t help that people on their facebook group (we have a secret group so we can chat and support each other) accused me of not sticking to it 100%. *DEEP BREADTH!* So yeah, that didn’t help. But you know what, when you have a frustrating situation, the way you handle it says everything about you. So, I politely disagreed with them and left it at that. Bye Felicia! But now what….I’m still not melting the pounds like other people. To be fair, there are people there that need to lose 80+ pounds, and when you are heavier it is easier to lose those first 50 pounds or so. But for me, I’m just close enough to my goal weight that its becoming a job for my body to figure out what I want it to do. Get it together body! Anyways, I decided that I would just add some cardio workouts to my routine. I mean, Just Dance is cardio right?….I get out of breadth and sweat and all that good stuff. So hopefully its enough? Well, we shall see. Next Monday is our weigh it. But until then I have to journal my food for 2 days and see if I messed something up there. And hopefully the cardio helps.

So that is my first entry  I guess. Is it super interesting? NO. But did I want to let it out, YES. So its a win win…1 entry and 1 venting session. Lol. Don’t worry, I will try to make it more interesting next time. That is…for anyone who is actually reading this….*crickets chirping* ok, I’m done now.

Belle would love these!

Hey everyone! I know its been a while, but I’m not dead…don’t worry. I’ve just been busy. But busy is good right? 🙂 Well, I have been working on these cool bookmarks. I always find that when my hubby and I are reading, we don’t really have any bookmarks. Not REAL bookmarks that is…it’s usually a piece of scrap paper or an index card. And yeah, that seems to do its job but sometimes I want to be like “oh hey, I’m starting a new book. Let me grab my bookmark.” and pull out a real bookmark. Yes, it does sound like a cheezy infomercial, but I like those! Don’t judge, lol. ANYWAYS, back to the point. So I wanted to make myself a cool bookmark and I started to get some cool ideas for ribbon bookmarks. Those seem to be popular now, and they do seem more durable than paper bookmarks so I figured I would try it. The problem is I had a lot of ideas, lol. I figured “well, if I like these maybe other people will too?” so I set off to make all the cool ideas I came up with in hopes of selling some too. Now, I have seen a lot of ribbon bookmarks online and yeah they are nice….but they are so boring. They are usually really girly with velvet ribbon and fancy girly charms. That’s cool I guess, but no way would my husband want one of those. So I found some cool ribbon with some of my favorite fandoms and also some really amazing charms (I still cannot get over the charms on some of these). I even hand sewed the end on all of them. I thought it would look nicer than just a blank ribbon crimp at the end, and also I could hide the stitches better than if I used a sewing machine. So it did take a little longer to make each one (just because of the sewing part) but I REALLY love how they all came out. ^_^ I’m selling some, but also thinking of giving these for Christmas…I mean, who doesn’t need a bookmark? They are the perfect gift for any geek, or even for that one person who already has everything! Ok, enough of the sales pitch, lol. But if you would like one of these (and other designs) please click on my store link above. Thanks!

Sew What!

SO I made a thing! Several actually.  I was at the craft store a while back and I found some really cool Star Wars fabric. I knew I wanted to make something, but didn’t know what. Well, time went on and I was at Disneyland with my hubby and we don’t like to take a backpack often because we usually only take a water bottle and maybe a phone charger…and backpacks are usually bigger than what we need. WELL, that’s when I was inspired (insert light bulb here) and I decided I would make a drawstring backpack. I’ve had a few in the past, but they were cheaply made and fell apart. BUT I did like them, since they were smaller and more convenient to use. So I went back to the craft store and bought all the supplies I needed (which I realized was quite a few things, lol). Now here’s the problem…I had everything I needed ready to go, but I didn’t have a clear plan. Ooops. I knew I wanted a backpack, but how would I make it. Would there be pockets or linning inside or zippers? So I thought, and thought, and thought….and months later I finally came up with something that worked. Of course the first one was a test, so I kept that one for myself. But the rest turned out nice if I do say so myself. ^_^  I really do enjoy sewing, ever since I was a little girl and my mom would let me use her sewing machine to make my dolls clothes. But I don’t know if its because I have to sew the same thing over and over, but this job got a little boring after a while. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed making them and I love how they came out….but I will probably take a break before I start up another sewing project, lol. But anyways, here are my backpacks, and yes I use mine often. I like it a lot and I hope that whoever purchases them enjoys them too. 🙂

Pokemon Art

So, as you know there has been a Pokemon Go craze lately, though it does seem to be dying down a bit. I actually have the app and I really enjoy playing it. My husband and I have gone to so many new parks to catch Pokemon, and its fun just walking and talking with him. ^_^ So I try to look for Pokemon Go events nearby so we can do some hunting and possibly meet new people. WELL, I saw there was an event that also included a Pokemon art gallery. AND I saw that they were allowing people to submit their work. I was instantly intrigued. I figured, I haven’t done much art lately, because my current projects involve sewing (you will see that in an upcoming post), so why not try to create something. I was inspired by Goldeen, and thought I would try watercolor (since she is a water pokemon). I was a little worried since I haven’t used watercolor in FOREVER, but might as well try right? And to be honest, it was a lot of fun and I’m pretty happy with the result. 🙂 SO, about the event…we ended up getting to the pokemon hunt late, so we missed everybody. Oh well, at least we got some good pokemon while we were there. But later we went to the gallery and I saw my  piece hanging on the wall! It felt so cool! It’s my first time in a gallery of any kind, so it was crazy seeing my painting on the wall with so many other art pieces. I got to talk to another girl that had some AMAZING work, and it was her first time in a gallery too. So it was nice getting to talk to a fellow creator. They also had live music at the event, which was fun. OH! And my husband and I spent like 20 minutes talking with this little boy about all our pokemon, lol. ^_^ Overall it was a fun night. goldeen

Some doodles

So, I haven’t posted much on here…but I doubt anyone has even visited this site…so is it a win win or lose lose situation? hmmmm. WELL, either way, I thought I would post some of my drawings on here. I like to draw, doodle, sketch, whatever you call it, I like it. I admit though that I haven’t done much lately. I guess I just feel like I need to be inspired to draw and I don’t always find the inspiration. :-/ But when I do find the need to draw, I enjoy it! Well, minus the times I get frustrated because what I put on paper is not what I saw in my head…or when I erase a part so much that it leaves a worn out spot on the page, or you can see the previous lines that I had erased…or…OR! ok, I think you get the picture. Art is a love/hate relationship with me. I get frustrated and just want to give up altogether, but I know that if I do that then I will never improve. Even if some of my friends or family say my work is good (no I do not pay them) I still feel like I need to get better for my own sake. I don’t just want to be “good” or “really good”, I want people to look at my art and go “WOW”. Ok, maybe not out loud because then it sounds forced. But what I want is people to experience what I feel when I see other artists work…just have a moment when you are taken back by the thought and work that went into it and the beauty and creativity that was expressed in their piece. Yeah, I don’t know if I am making any sense to you guys, I can’t always express what I have in my head (see above regarding drawing). But I hope you get the gist of it. 🙂 So for now I am going to show you a few of my drawings. You might notice I like drawing girls more than boys, lol. I don’t know why, I just do. But I get inspired from different things. The first is from Mary Poppins, the scene where they have tea with Uncle Albert. The second is actually inspired by a lovely lady that is a friend of a friend, I just saw her picture on a friends Facebook page and just felt like drawing her. And the last is my dress in my Kiki cosplay (from Kiki’s Delivery Service) after meeting an artist that I am a fan of (her name is Miss Mindy, she is amazing, check her out!)

ANYWAY! That is enough rambling from me today. I hope you got a little insight into me and my art and I hope you like what you see *wink wink*….oh wait…that was creepy. Uhhhhhhh…..thanks for stopping by and come again! :-/

Store Temporarily Down

Hey everyone!

So as you saw in my previous post, I will be attending a Peddler’s Market Today. Because of that I will have my store down for the day. Sorry for any inconvenience, but I figured it would be best to focus on one thing at a time. So don’t worry, my store will be back up again tomorrow. Thanks for understanding! 🙂

I mean business now!

So I have had my store for a little over a year now, and I have made myself some business cards in the past. BUT, I made them on the regular printer business cards. So although I liked my old design, I figured it was time for an update. DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!…..Here are my new business cards! So new! “oooooh” So glossy! “ahhhhhh” and even….(wait for it)…..DOUBLE SIDED!! “woooOOOOooow!” I feel like a real professional now. ^_^  I can’t wait to start handing these out and not look like a noob any more, lol. AND, if you are wondering, yes, I did design these myself. I know, nothing special…but I am super happy with them. So for my fellow creatives out there, if you are contemplating doing something new (business cards, a store, an ad, etc.) then go for it! It is seriously a confidence and motivational booster.

Come see me at the Peddler’s Market

Hi everyone! So I am super excited to announce that I will be a vendor at the Peddler’s Market the 25th of this month. (^_^)  I really enjoy being able to meet and talk to everyone who stops by, and of course I always appreciate the support from those of you who can come visit. This event will be in Coasta Mesa, CA. So if any of you are going to be in Southern California that weekend, come check it out. There is live music and lots of food, and a bunch of different vendors (there will be antiques, hand made items, clothing, etc!). AND for my fellow crafters and creative folks, they will even have some craft demonstrations in the store.

OH! And if of course, if you come on by you can purchase my items without having to worry about shipping. And if there is something you wanted to see in person first, this is a great opportunity. There may also be some items on sale as well…but you have to come and find out! 🙂 I hope to see some of you there!
